4 Months Old!

Better late than never, but we've hit the four month mark!

Rian has been growing like a weed and developing quite the charming personality!  He's is getting so big so fast, I can't eve believe all of the things that he is interested in already!

We busted out the entertainer, and while he still needs a little boost of a pillow under his feet, he fills up the rest of it pretty well!  He loved it and started moving and grabbing all of the things right away.
He loves making faced and "talking".  He has the cutest little laugh, and gets very excited when Kevin carries on a conversation with him.
Regan has been blossoming too...so much so that she's wearing makeup!
Just kidding!...She wanted me to put makeup on her while Kevin and I were getting ready to go out with friends, so I used some fun colored eye shadow and lip gloss.

She has also taken quite an interest in helping in the kitchen, and her specialty is apple pie.  So far this season she has helped make 3 pies!  Her favorite parts are eating the apple peels, sprinkling the cinnamon, and rolling the dough.

There may have been a little quality control...
Looks good enough to eat!
This is what happens when you try to take a nice pictures of grandparents and their grandkids... no one holds still!
Since Kevin had the week off before he starts his new job, we went out and picked apples at an orchard in Lockport.  Regan and Rian had a blast, and we picked 10lbs of  Macintosh apples!  Yum!
Regan had to make sure they tasted okay

Peace and quiet for a few moments when we go home...ahhhhh
Here is Rian's official 4 month photo.  I love his little crossed legs!
Caught a little bit of a smile...he just wasn't feeling the picture taking that day

On Friday we went to Rochester to visit the Museum of Play.  Regan was much more into it and involved since the last time we were there.  She loves the carousel and all the Sesame Street stuff.  I think her favorite in definitely Wegmans though, this girl loves to grocery shop.
Regan and Mommy in the false perspective room...someday soon Regan really will be taller than me.
Playing on Elmo's piano
Wegmans Time!
Chocolate Pudding was a must - she also bought a carrot, a potato, a bagel and  cheese
Rian and his friend the troll (the one on the left, not the one on the right)
She would play all day with these things
Making more pie!
Playing Atari with Daddy - he was so proud!
We saved the carousel for last, otherwise she would have wanted to rise 10 more times!
Lunch at Dinosaur BBQ!
Mommy and Rian - the boy needed to eat, so mom nursed him in front of a whole crew of bikers wearing Harley Davidson stuff...that was an experience!
After a long fun day, they both conked out on the ride home

This week Kevin left for Boston in the wee hours of Monday morning.  We are doing are best to kill the time until he returns on Friday.  Hopefully we can all be in Boston together soon!

New Blog

Hello everybody!  I'm just posting over here to tell you that I have started a new blog.  It's called "Let's Discuss..." and it's just for me to write my musings of whatever I wish.

As some of you, or most of you know, I am a very opinionated person.  Some/most of my opinions are unpopular.  So I created this blog so that I can talk about all the things that I agree or disagree with, and hopefully we can have productive discussions about them, and you can get a better understanding of who I am as a person.

If you are easily offended, or simply don't care what my opinions are...by all means, don't read it.  In fact, I don't care if no one reads it.  It's simply a spot where I can write down my thoughts and ideas, and vent every once and a while.

You can find the link on the right hand side of the page with the blogs I like to read, or go directly to the url:

15 Weeks Old

Finally an update!  Sorry for being such a slacker these past few weeks, but I have a good excuse... we have some big changes coming our way!

A few months before Rian was born, Kevin was presented with a job opportunity in Boston, Massachusetts.  We looked into the opportunity, and went out there to look at neighborhoods and houses.  Ultimately we decided that the timing was wrong, and that with the baby on the way it was just too much of a big change.

A few weeks ago, Kevin was presented the opportunity again, and we discussed it again... We consulted friends, and family, and decided that it is a great opportunity not only for Kevin and his career, but for us as a family to have the opportunity to live in (near) such a wonderful city, with so many things to see an do.  It wasn't an easy decision, given all of the wonderful things we have here, like the help with the kids, family & friends; but we expect everyone to come visit us as soon as their schedule allows!

So that's the big news!  These past few weeks have been busy with all the things that entail moving to a new house/city/state.  We put our house up for sale last week, and we've had 4 showings already, with another one tonight.  It's been tough getting the house ready, and unnecessary items packed up, kids packed up, cats packed up, and everyone out the door for an hour or two so someone can look at the house.  We also had a yard sale last weekend to try to sell some of the things we don't really need/use anymore.  We have our first Open House scheduled for this coming Sunday, so hopefully we get a lot of people to come through and get an offer soon!
Kevin put in his two weeks at his current job this past Friday, so he will have a week off, and then start work with the new company.  He will be working as COO at Intrepid Pursuits, a start-up company whose main operations are the development of "apps" for the iPad and the like.  Another added bonus is that the founder of this company is my college roommates husband; so we will already have friends in the area!  Kevin is already very excited about his projects at the new company, and I am glad that he is finally doing something that is going to keep him challenged and excited.

Okay, so lets step away from talk of the future to focus on what we've been up to (besides all that) these past few weeks.

Regan has been blossoming into a little kid!  She's not a toddler anymore, and she acts like she's 2 going on 16 sometimes!  Her hair continues to be a tough thing for me to deal with, since she doesn't enjoy getting it brushed, but we've found that a dab of curl enhancer usually does the trick and keeps it tame.

Rian is 15 weeks old now, and growing like a weed!  I can't keep this kid in clothes!  He is already grown out of all his 3 month stuff, and is fitting all too well into 6 month outfits...it's enough to make a mom cry!

Of course with the pending move, we are trying to spend as much time with family and friends as we can before the house sells and we ship out, so we spend lots of time with the grandparents.

A few weeks ago Kevin and I celebrated our 5th Wedding anniversary.  Funny enough it was the same day that my cousin Patrick and his wife Michelle were getting married, so we all celebrated at their wedding and had a great "kid-free" night out.

An attempt at a sibling shot... as soon as I took this Regan said "Mom, can you get him off now?"... ah sisterly love...

What the...?
After a walk around the block the other day, we let Regan run in the sprinkler with her clothes on, she had a blast and Rian watched safely from the stroller.

Nudie Patootie!
Regan playing with her new sensory tub I made for her with beans... it's like a sand box, only less messy!
This weekend Regan went out to Grandma Judy & Papa's house while we had our Yard Sale.  She always has tons of fun out there playing with toys, throwing apples and looking at all the animals in the barn.  When they brought her back we all had dinner and then went to the harbor to have ice cream and watch the sunset.

Continuing the family fun, and ceremoniously marking the end of summer, we went up to Mississippi Muds for dinner on Sunday, and then walked by the river for a while.  Regan also had her first introduction to the chicken nugget & BBQ sauce.  Needless to say, she approves of both.

When we got home, her and dad hopped in the tub and experimented with some fun hairstyles.  Then it was time for books and bed.  For the first time in a long time, both kids were in bed by 9 and mom and dad got to watch a whole movie before going to bed!  It was a great labor day weekend!

We will keep you all up to date on the latest Boston happenings.  Kevin starts his new job officially at the end of the month, and we will be going out in early October to look for a house.  Hopefully our house sells quickly so we can get this show in the road by Thanksgiving!
