9 Months Old

Sorry for slacking so much on that last post, but we have been surprisingly busy and I have been too exhausted from chasing my kids around all day to muster up a proper blog post.  I promise I will try harder this time.

The beginning of this month took us on a trip back to Buffalo, that was planned for quite a while now, simply because Colin was coming to Boston for the Superbowl.  So instead of flying back home, Colin and I drove with the kids back to Buffalo, to stay the week.  Kevin joined us by flying to Buffalo on Thursday, and we then stayed till Sunday.

Of course, I forgot my nice camera and then the one I had died, so Mom and Dad have most of the pictures from that weekend.
Grandma and Regan playing with Play-Doh
One of the fun things we did was to check out the Botanical Gardens for a special light display.  I had meant to go see this last year and never got around to it, but I'm so glad we did it this year.  It was so neat!  They have interactive stuff for the kids to do, laser lights, lights dancing to music,  rain forest sounds... it was so much fun!
Waterfall all lit up
Grandma,  Regan and Rian in the room full of little lasers... they looked like little fireflies flying all around.
We got to play in the snow on our visit (something we've only been able to do once or twice in Massachusetts).  I think Regan kinda misses going out in the snow because she was a nut when we went outside.  Grandma came out with us and spent most of the time trying to cover Regan with as much snow as possible.
Blizzard!

After Kevin came, we all got together to celebrate his birthday at his parents house.  I was a great excuse to get together with Beth, Brandon, Derek, and Kevins Aunt and Uncle.  We had dinner and Regan and Derek played and played and never got tired.  We had a Buffalo Sabres themed cake and ice cream, and then we played some more!
"Happy Birthday Dear Daddy"
Then we got home it was actually a bit of a relief because Rian had not been sleeping well at Grandma's house, and he was in the process of pushing out a few teeth too.
Happy to be back home
Pretty girl
Rian continues to grow like a moose, and he has been this close to crawling for weeks now.  Finally the other day he just up and crawled... finally got the arms and legs to work together and just took off.  Luckily the baby gate I ordered was scheduled to arrive the next day, so up that went.

...maybe we'll save that for another time
Regan is busy being a typical almost three year old.  She has good days where she is simply awesome to be around, and bad days where it is a power struggle.  She got her first acceptance letter in the mail the other day, so she will be headed off to Preschool in September, two days a week in the AM.  She's looking forward to is as much as I am, I think, and talks about it with a lot of excitement.

When did you get so big, little boy?

Rian goes for his 9 month check up on Wednesday, so I will post his stats after that.  Also, I'm trying to upload some videos for Rian crawling in action... so I will post that too.
