11 Months Old!

I know I say this just about every month, but I really can't believe how fast time is going.  When did my baby grow up?

A mere one month from today (28 days to be exact) my baby will be ONE YEAR OLD!!  I don't know whether to cry because I'm losing my baby, or be excited about all there is to come...

Either way here are a few new pictures from the past week.  She is growing leaps and bounds, everyday learning something new, and it amazes us.

Last weekend we went out to dinner with the whole family to celebrate Daddy's Birthday.  Regan was very well behaved during dinner, and between her and Derek we were all entertained.

Regan manages to say a few words now, usually only when you prompt her, and you have to have a keen ear to decipher exactly what she means, but words none the less.  She says hi, bye, all done, mama, and cat. Today she picked up her orange Dr.Seuss guy, started waving his arm back and forth and saying "hi".  So Smart.  She also responds to simple commands now too, like; give it to me, no, put it in, and pet the kitty.  Also, her second tooth broke through yesterday!  Whoo Hoo!

Its A Small World!

Today Mom and I took Regan to the mall, just to get out for a bit.  While we were in The Gap, Mom was walking around with Regan in the stroller and I was shopping.  When we met back up, Mom was talking to a Dad pushing his daughter in the same kind of stroller.

Virginia: "Aww, how old is she?"
Dad: "Almost 11 Months"
Virginia: "She (Regan) will be one year next month"

At this point the mother of the little girl & I were close enough to be in on the conversation

Mom: "She will be one next month too, her birthday is March 24th"
Me: "Really?  So is hers (Regan)"
Mom: "Wow, what's her name?"
Me: "Regan"
Mom: "You're kidding!" (Looks at her husband like "thats crazy!") "Her name is Reagan too!"

Long story short: Our girls were born on the same day, in the same hospital, 45mins apart (my Regan first), and we gave them the same name!

We both recalled the OR nurses saying that there was another baby that was named Regan, and it turns out she was the c-section after us that day and we were in the Recovery Room together separated by just a curtain!

It's a small, small world.

Mmmmm...Frosting

Great Grandma Jean made an awesome cake for our Superbowl party last weekend.  The other day I was having a piece, and I let Regan taste some of the chocolate frosting.  I took the tip of her finger and dipped it in...unfortunately she missed getting most of it into her mouth.  Then she proceeded to try sticking her tongue out as far as she could to like the remaining off of her chin!

Week 45

Here are a few pictures from this last week.  I haven't been able to snap a pictures of the new tooth yet, but when I do I will be sure to post it.

Normally I cannot get Regan to watch TV at all, not like thats a bad thing, but she wants nothing to do with kids shows like Sesame Street or anything like that.  I think Kevin is more enthralled with Handy Manny then Regan is.  So the other day, a show comes on and Regan starts clapping her hands, and throwing her arms in the air, getting all excited...
...yes ladies and gents, I couldn't be prouder; The Golden Girls!  She was so excited that the Golden Girls were on.  I have to say I'm not that surprised.  I used to DVR episodes and watch them at night when she was a baby.

Here are a few pictures from today.  Regan and I are wearing red for "Wear Red Day".  Still not crawling or pulling up yet, but this girl can roll!  She can pretty much get anywhere she wants to go in the living room now by rolling there.  The baby proofing has commenced, as she has tried to grab everything she can reach so far.
***Edited to add: If you click on the picture above and enlarge it, you can see her tooth, and the one coming in next to it!
Lastly, I had to show this off, because honestly, I wasn't sure the day would ever come where Regan had hair.  Now she has enough that it even curls a little at the bottom.  I long for the day I can successfully manage a pigtail.

I guess this means we got the right one...

I was playing around with some face recognition software on myheritage.com, and they have a thing that analyzes how much your child looks like the mother and father.  The results seem to show that she is a pretty good blend of the two of us.
