One Year Ago Today...

...we found out that we were pregnant!
It's so hard to believe it's been a whole year already. It truly seems like only yesterday we were telling the good news to family and friends. Now one year later, we have this:
It's amazing how things can change in just one year.

Also today we got a visit from Rachel and Giulianna! She is getting so big, and she can walk now, which means lots and lots of movement! She gets into everything! It gives us a look at what life will be like for us in another year.

Here is Giulianna sitting in Regan's chair:

Week 17 & 4 Month Dr. Visit

This week was Regan's First Kerl Family Picnic, on Saturday. It was held and Grandma and Grandpa Kerl's House and everyone had a great time. Mom and Dad were worried that Regan might be cranky and not take good naps while we were there, but we were wrong!

Here is a picture of Regan fast asleep in the pack n' play at Great Grandma's house. She took a two hour nap while we were there. She slept so well, that some of the relatives didn't even believe she was at the party at all!
All of Regan's older second cousins, and big cousin Derek decorated the "gutter sundae", which is a big plastic gutter filled with ice cream! Then you just fill it with whatever toppings you want. They all did a great job, and it was very yummy!
Regan was being her usual anti-social self. She's not to fond of other people holding her, or fussing over her. Somehow Great Aunt Barb managed a "conversation" with her, and even got a smile or two.
Or maybe she was smiling because Dad needed to change her...
The man in action:
Daddy also said that since Regan was so good this weekend, we could go to Carters for a shopping spree! To show her gratitude, Regan picked out this onesie:
This morning was Regan's 4 month Doctor's appointment. Here are her stats:

Height: 23 7/8 inches - 37%
Weight: 13# 2oz - 41%
Head Circ.: 16 inches - 41%

So she is really moving up in the growth curve. Everything checked out fine and she had to get 3 injections and one oral vaccine. Regan was not fooled by the nurses this time, and decided that she was so mad she was going to hold her breath. Needless to say she turned a shade of purple until I picked her up and the screaming commenced. Within a matter of minutes she was out in the car recovering with Grandma while Mom set up an appointment for the next "torture session".

We also got the go-ahead to start her on solid foods. She can have rice cereal, and stage one fruits and veggies. They said we didn't have to start her right away if she seems satisfied with the feedings that she is getting now. Mom and Dad have already decided that we will wait until she starts showing us she's ready. We anticipate it will be closer to 6 months when we start.

That's all for now, I will post a 4 month picture in 2 days!

16 Weeks!

This week Regan is 16 weeks old, and we have officially discovered our hands and what they are for. Hands are for chewing on, and smacking our turtle with! And boy does she love to hit and grab at the turtle and the rest of her toys.

Also this week, Regan has been drooling like a faucet. Everyone seems to think she's teething, but there is not a bump to be felt inside her little mouth. I think she just likes to see how many times per day mommy will change her outfit.
Here is a video of her playing with the snail, because she only has intrest in the stuff on her right side:

Regan also really likes to stand, she actually prefers it to sitting most of the time and will hold her legs stiff so you can't sit her down!

That's a good smile!- she loves her burp cloth
This video is a little dark because it was a rainy day today, but she was being extra cute. If you listen close you can hear her laugh. We just started laughing last week... not full blown giggles, but it's still really cute!

Next week will be Regan's official 4 month birthday. We are going to the doctors for her 4 month check up on Wednesday and I will post after that!

15 Weeks!

This week was another one full of changes and surprises for Regan. Just when we thought we had her schedule figured out, she goes and changes it on us! Now she is sleeping for 10 hours at night and taking longer naps during the day. She's also extended her eating pattern to only 5 times a day, which is much different then the 10 to 12 times a day when we first brought her home.

Also, Mom has figured out a solution to the dreaded "tummy time". While we try not to let her fixate on the TV too much during the day, it's a great tool of distraction while she is on her tummy:
Here we are learning about drums on Sesame Street....very interesting...
Now that she is more active and likes to look at new things, we do chores around the house while she is strapped in her Baby Bijorn. She likes to face forward, but she falls a little short of the head support.
Here she is clowing around with Grandma Gannon, we call this the "Sister Mary Regan" look:
This is what happens when you let Daddy give her a bottle and put her to bed... Dad fell asleep before Regan did...
For the 4th of July we decided to have our own small family picnic at Chestnut Ridge Park. We packed a lunch and took a walk around the park. Regan pretty much napped through the whole thing. Afterwards we went to visit with the Great-Grandmas.
Funny Face, playing with her toys this morning.
