It's a Poppyseed

Our Baby is as big as a poppyseed this week, and growing:

"Now safe in your womb, the ball of cells (blastocyst) splits in two, becoming the embryo and the placenta. The amniotic sac and fluid are forming around baby, and will act as a cushion for the next eight months."

On that note, I told Dr. G today at work, and she was so excited! She couldn't wait to talk to me after work about everything. So after another busy day, we both stayed and talked for and hour. She and I are seeing the same Doctor, and apparently I am going to love him. We talked about how tough it is to not be able to tell anyone, and now its so exciting to have someone to talk to about it. So the next big step is to tell everyone at work before I get caught in a dangerous situation and I am force to say "I can't do that". I am thinking next week may be better, or Friday... we'll see.

In other news, tomorrow is "Wines in the Wild" at the Zoo. We are going with my parents, Kevin's parents and Colin. Somehow I have to attend a wine tasting event and not taste any wine... and make it look natural with out setting off alarms in either of the mothers heads.

Week 4

Today is officially the end of week 4 of my pregnancy. I called the Dr. today and made an appointment for August 12, at the 6-7 week mark, which is the earliest they will see anyone unless there is a problem.

Today Kevin told his boss at work the news, just to give him a "heads up", and so he would know if there was an emergency or something. I had to tell someone today or I was going to explode!... So I told Jen, because everyone at work is going to have to know, for the baby's safety, so I figured I would try it out on Jen. I think I really surprised her... she had this look of shock on her face before quickly congratulating me and giving me a hug.

Tomorrow I am going to tell Dr. G (due in October), so that she can give me some advice on how to break it to my boss.

That's going to be a fun conversation.

I posted our first "belly pic", though there is not much of a belly present besides the one that was there before the baby. I can't wait to see what it looks like where there is actually something to fill it out!

"We're Having a Baby, My Baby and Me"

It's official, after a few days of being sick, and feeling "off", I decided to take a test. This morning I woke up completely expecting it to be negative, however, after about 1 min there it was...
...the second pink line. I ran to get Kevin, who couldn't believe it either, but we had just started trying, so it wasn't a BIG shock...but still very surprising.

Now what??? It's Sunday, so I can't call the Dr., I am only 4 weeks, and we agreed we wouldn't tell anyone until about week 10. So I am going to go nuts knowing this big secret.

That's why I decided to start this blog, so I can at least chronicle my first few weeks, and then everyone can read it later. So tomorrow I will call the Dr. and probably go in for a blood test to confirm.

YIKES!
