8 Months Old!

Regan is eight months old today!  Where has this time gone?

Getting her to sit still by myself proved to be quite a feat today when I tried to take her picture.  She kept insiting on turning around to rip her sign down off the couch.
What mommy?  You don't want me to do....this!

You don't want me to do...this!?

O.K...I'll be good now

This month, Regan still struggles with crawling.  She is just too rolly polly for her to lift her belly off the ground.  The hands and feet move, we just have to get the middle to cooperate too.  She does manage to rotate herself in a circle on the floor.

Last week, on a nice day, Regan and I visited the Botanical Gardens to walk around and check out the plants.  Here are a few pics:

She's such a big girl now

Here she's looking at the model train they have set up for the holidays

Here is a pretty orchid from the "orchid house"

They had big ceiling fans in there...she was mesmerized

Afterwards we went to go visit Grandpa

More to come this week...pictures of the Turkey Day festivities and Grandma Virginia's Birthday!

Week 33

This week Regan has been an angel.  We think she knows Christmas is coming soon, because she has been on her very best behavior lately, being a smiley happy baby all of the time.  Grandma and Grandpa Kerl were here to babysit on Friday night, and Regan didn't cry once!

Here are some pictures from this past week:

Bubble bath time!

Grandma Gannon busted out Mommy's old piano, and Regan gave us a concert

Here's Regan and Daddy, reading on the couch

Regan wanted to show off her shirt too... it says "I Make My Daddy Smile"

In other news; I am happy to report that Cheri and Mark had their baby late Friday night, and contrary to my prognostication, IT'S A GIRL!  Cassandra Rose was born at 11:15pm November 13th, weighing 7 pounds 14 ounces.  Everyone is doing great, and we are so happy to have another new baby in our circle.

Thank Heaven for Regan

Last night Regan was Baptized at St. John Vianney Church.  She wore a grown purchased by her Great Great Grandmother, for all of her great-grandchildren to wear.  Now Regan is the 9th baby to wear it (including myself and Colin) and the first great-great grandchild to wear it.  She did really well through the whole ceremony, and I think she wanted to dive into the baptismal fountain.  Here are some pics:

The Cake - I ordered it last week from Wegmans.  Kevin went to pick it up and they forgot to make it...so they whipped this one up for us.

7 Months Old!

Yesterday Regan turned seven months old!  Where has the time gone?

Seven months used to seem like such a long stretch of time to me.  Now looking back on how far we've come with Regan in seven months, it seems like we brought her home yesterday and started on this crazy journey we call "parenthood".  Now, more than ever, do I realize that this first year of her life will be gone all to quick.  But we can't wait for what's to come.

Pumpkin Patch

30 weeks!
Well Saturday was the only day we could go to the Pumpkin Patch, so besides the fact that it was 40 degrees out, it could have been better.  We came, we saw, we ate, we picked some pumpkins and left!

It was way too cold to stick around and look at all the fun stuff.  I really wanted to get some pictures of Regan sitting in the pumpkins, but it was too chilly to move her from her nice warm BundleMe cover.  She did, however, look very festive in the hat and sweater that Great Aunt Joanne made for her.

These pictures will have to do for this year.  Regan seemed quite overwhelmed with all the the kids running around, and the farm animals and rides... not to mention the towers of pumpkins.  She had very little interest in looking at the animals, so we just picked out two good pumpkins and beat it out of there...and went to Starbucks for Pumpkin Spice Lattes instead.  Better luck next year when she can run around and be a part of the chaos.

28 Weeks

This week, Regan successfully held her sippy cup with two hands all by herself!  Now she drinks her water from it pretty well.  Sometimes she just likes to chew on the spout and it spills everywhere!

Daddy is still a constant source of entertainment for Regan

Here's Regan with Great Grandma Flo and Grandma Gannon

Regan loves to play and sit up now.  We are looking for some good toys that she can sit up and play with without much facilitation... we're open to suggestions and donations! :)

In other news, Mom went to Syracuse for Cheri's baby shower today, and Regan will have a little playmate next month!  That means that today was Daddy's first day taking care of Regan with no help!  They went shopping together, he gave her 3 bottles and fed her 3 meals, and NO DUCT TAPE was involved!  That means he did better than Grandpa Pat did the first time he watched me by himself.  Way to go Daddy!

27 Weeks

This week Regan is 27 weeks old!  I can't believe how fast she is growing up.  Everyday is something new that she discovers she can do; we are constantly amazed.
This week Regan has really mastered sitting up on her own.  She is very steady now and can easily play and sit by herself.  She loves to sit in her crib and play peek-a-boo with her bunny.  She lifts it up over her eyes, then moves it quickly and waits for you to yell "peek-a-boo!".  It's too cute!

Regan's culinary escapades also continued this week.  So far she has mastered: Apples, Sweet Potatoes, Bananas, Peas, Pears, Green Beans, Squash, Blueberries, Chicken and Turkey.  Next on the Menu: Beets!  Here is a picture of our adventures with blueberries:

Another popular form of entertainment lately is daddy singing to Regan.  No not lullabies, he likes to sing the "Chicken Dance" song.  She sings it and bounces her on his lap, and she laughs hystericaly.  It's so cute to watch.

More updates next week!
